Goals: Breeze x2

The weather was nice so that makes a change and during the warm up of this 3:45 game aging the prestigious Durham University Stokesley seemed a bit slow to get going. Maybe it way due to the absence of their captain (and DOD) Jack atha as well as a few other key players that were missing but never the less the game began.

The salamanders began the game under heavy pressure from the classic Durham University Stokesley seemed press however the Stokesley defence held strong batting back every attack the opposition threw at them. Stokesley initially struggled to work the ball out or create anything attacking wise as the Durham press seemed too much. This was the case up until the second half when tactical changes came.

Also forgot to mention Durham scored a flick so stokesley went into the second half 1-0 down.

So the 2nd half serial goal scorer Breezy moved up top and changed were also made in defence and midfield. This sent Durham’s heads spinning and meant stokesley retain a lot more of the ball. In true fashion Stokesley drag flick specialist did what he does best and converted and then minutes later scored an outrageous goal that went over the Durham goalkeeper head (I didn’t see properly as I was not paying enough attention).

The objective of the game then became clear. Ensure defensive security. Lead by Captain for the day Phil Rose the defence held strong thanks to a collective effort by all thirteen players. The final whistle blew 2-1 and stokesley maintain their excellent run of form.

Special mention to Dhruv for not getting sent off and an even specialer mention to Kris and Breezy for their joint MOTM performances. Onto next week at the fortress.

Next game: Newcastle M1 - HOME (Saturday 7th December 2024, 12:00 push back)
